<meta />The dragonborn are not natives to the world on which Maroester is found. When Zaskettr the Throne Slagger destroyed the Capital, the dragon caused ley lines on the island to surge. Rifts opened all over the island and strange and terrifying creatures were drawn through them to Maroester. The most surprising and extensive rift transfer was the dragonborn. And entire town of the draconic humanoids, called Jorgastr but referred to by the common name Tilt because its transference from its mountain location at home to its plains location on Maroester left it akimbo, was torn from their homeworld and deposited in the Southmarch.
The dragonborn trace their lineage back to powerful draconic entities and a mysterious cyclopean race of which little is remembered. On their world, the ruins of this race can be found in the deep wilderness. Upon their arrival on Maroester, the dragonborn found that the mysterious ruins of the pre-patu civilization strongly resemble those of their own. Are these races connected somehow? The dragonborn do not know but many take pains to explore Maroester in order to find out.
People do not trust the dragonborn by and large. But in the Southmarch, the dragonborn are common enough and proven themselves no monsters that folk accept their presence. The same is not true in other marches, where the dragonborn must move with more secrecy. Some dragonborn have found acceptance as mercenary warriors because of their great size and fearsome presence while others have entered into the magical traditions with some success.
